DescriptionRobert Muldoon in Rotorua, November 1980.jpg
English: On November 22 1980, Prime Minister Robert Muldoon opened the new Rotorua Agrodome.
The original agrodome in Rotorua was opened in 1971 by champion shearer Godfrey Bowen and fellow farmer George Harford. In May 1980 a fire destroyed the original agrodome. However, the site did not remain closed for long as was rebuilt and reopened in November 1980.
The agrodome remains open today and is a popular tourist attraction.
