Arkadia Joint Lyceum (Finnish: Arkadian yhteislyseo) is a private high school located in Klaukkala, Finland. The school has about 400 students.[1] The Urheilupuisto middle school operates next to the lyceum,[2] and the Klaukkala's sports area, an ice rink, and a tennis and squash hall are also located in the neighborhood. In connection with the building, there is also an own sports facility, Arkadia Hall.[3]
Background[edit]
Originally the educational institution known as Uusi yksityinen lyseo (the "New Private Lyceum") was founded in Helsinki in 1927, but it got its current name in 1938. After the number of students decreased during the 1980s, it was decided to move the school to the already strongly growing area of Klaukkala, where the current building was completed in 1991.[4]
