Summary

Description
English: Image of eagle roosting on an image of a shield with stars and stripes. Description of image and explanation of purpose. These cartes de viste were sold for the benefit of the 1865 Great Sanitary Fair in Chicago. Old Abe was an eagle mascot carried by the 8th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, which belonged to the Iron Brigade.
