Summary

Description
English: 'Wallets', The Green, Great Warley. Great Warley used to be on the Walsingham to Canterbury pilgrim's way, and it is thought that this house was the last place they stayed before crossing the Thames marshes. Local legend has it that the name comes from the fact that pilgrims left their purses and wallets for safe-keeping. However the more likely explanation is from the medieval term 'waylet' for a cross roads.
