Summary

Description
English: A 1918 Atkinson "Colonial Type" 6 tonne steam wagon fitted with a three-way tipping body, on display at a car / truck / steam rally / exhibition held in either southern Scotland or northern England. At the time of uploading this image, the author, who was an 11 year old visitor to the UK from Western Australia when he created the image, could not recall the name or location of the rally / exhibition, but he will add it later if that information eventually comes to his attention. (The rally / exhibition may have been the annual Cumbria Steam Gathering, if it was held before 8 September 1977, when the author returned to Australia.) A UK government vehicle registration check carried out immediately before the image was uploaded revealed that its subject was built in 1918 and first registered in the UK in March 1977, following its restoration by Tom Varley. The wagon had spent most of the intervening period in Australia. The author believes that "Lake Goldsmith Mining Pty Ltd" is a fictitious entity, and that the "Lake Goldsmith" in that name actually refers to the Lake Goldsmith Steam Preservation Association Inc, or the Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally regularly held by that Association in Lake Goldsmith, Victoria, Australia (which is a long way from Wiluna, Western Australia, where the wagon was located immediately before Varley returned it to England for restoration). Taken with a Kodak Instamatic 155 X, and scanned with an Epson Perfection V850 Pro owned by Wikimedia Australia.
