Summary

Description
English: According to the hand writing: Giuseppe Merosi (in the background, at the wheel) and engineer Baragiana (front) on the A.L.F.A. 40-60 Grand Prix. This was launched in 1914 with 4.5 liter engine and 88 HP at 2.950 giri. In this picture from 1921, they car has had its power increased to 102 HP at 3,000 rpm.[1]
It seems the same picture is in Luigi Fusi's book, with the subtitle (caption) that "La Grand Prix del 1914. Vista longitudinale. Alla guida e il progettista Merosi e al suo fianco il suo collaboratore Santoni". That may be the Alfa engineer Antonio Santoni.(Fusi book picture on ebay)
Time of this picture is between 1914 and 1921 then, and the person next to Merosi is either Santoni or Baragiana. Driver does look like Merosi.
