The first major redesign for the Chevy pickup after World War II was this, the Advance Design series, built from 1947 to 1955 when replaced by the Task Force series.
The 1/2 ton trucks were first called the Thriftmaster, but in mid 1949, they became the 3100. 3/4 ton trucks became the 3600 and the one ton trucks, the 3800, early called the Loadmaster.
1951 saw the introduction of side vent windows.
1952 lever type door handles replaced with push button.
1953 side Chevrolet badge gone on hood
1954 windscreen now one piece, new grille.
Engine; 216 cu in 6 cyl until 1954, then 235 cu in
