English: Many years ago this was the location of Fribourg & Treyer - they were a firm of tobacconists. They used to make about a ton of snuff each month, which sold world-wide. Strange names, and interesting fragrances. They also made cigarettes, including their "No1 Turkish" which were truly amazing - they had a unique taste and odour. Today, they are no longer trading and the shop has become a centre for theatre tickets and tourist souvenirs of London. I am pleased to see that the shop front has not been changed. You will find this at the top of Haymarket - pass it by and spend some time at the National Gallery, which is about 10 minutes' walk away, down the hill.
James Bond afficionados may recall that Fribourg & Treyer made JB's cigarettes: I forget which book that was in though.
