Fair use rationale for use in the article The Ant and the Aardvark[edit]

Though this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

1. No free images are known to exist, and, given the nature of the work, none are likely to be released.
2. The image is used for identification and informational purposes, and is not believed to detract significantly from the original work.
3. It illustrates an educational article about the series.
4. The use of the image will not affect the value of the original work or limit the copyright holder's rights or ability to distribute the original. In particular, copies could not be used to make illegal copies of the programme.
5. It is a low resolution image.
6. The image is only a small portion of the commercial product.
7. It does not limit the copyright owner's rights to sell, produce, or advertise the show in any way.

This image is a screenshot from a copyrighted film, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by the studio which produced the film, and possibly also by any actors appearing in the screenshot. It is believed that the use of a limited number of low-resolution screenshots for critical commentary and discussion of the film and its contents on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, qualifies as fair use under the Copyright law of the United States.
