English: Deflection coils surrounding the picture tube in a cathode ray tube (CRT) type television set. Looking toward the cathode end (rear), the neck of the CRT passes through the hole in center. The deflection coils create an increasing magnetic field which bends the beam of electrons from side to side as it passes down the neck of the tube, sweeping the beam across the screen. |
