Summary

Description
English: I suppose the venerated stone is the one in this, in a mihrab. The Maqam Ibrahim Salihin, a Zengid-Ayyubid project though the site was first honoured by the Seljuk sultan, Malik Shah in 1086. A rock honoured here is claimed to "date" from the time Abraham paid a visit , on his way from Ur to Hebron. The place, though obviously venerated, looks extremely modern. On the web one can find pictures that suggest an earlier building was covered with a modern roof to protect it, with a new façade.
