Description
English: Winwood Almshouses, Quainton, Buckinghamshire. The almshouses were founded by Richard Winwood and endowed by him in his will of 20th January 1687. N.B. in those days, official dates in records occurring before 21st March were written with both the current and previous years because officially the new year didn't start until after the vernal equinox.) The apparent letter "X" to the left of the rightmost chimney in this image are the sails of 566271
