English: American and Soviet generals pose on the banks of the Elbe River near Torgau, Germany, where the two Allies linked up for the first time. Pictured from left to right are Brig. Gen. Charles G. Helmick (Commander of V Corps Artillery), Maj. Gen. Clarence R. Huebner (CG V Corps, First U.S. Army), Lt. Gen. Gleb Baklanov (Commanding General Soviet 34th Rifle Corps), and Maj. Gen. Vladimir Rusakov (Commanding General Soviet 58th Guards Rifle Division).
