Summary

Description
English: .Illustration of en:anamorphic widescreen lens. With an anamorphic lens, the picture is optically "squeezed" to cover the entire film frame, resulting in a better picture quality. When projecting the film, the projector must use a lens of opposite anamorphic power to "unsqueeze" the image back to its original proportions.
Deutsch: Illustration zum Artikel de:anamorphe Widescreen-Linse. Mit dieser Linse wird das Bild optisch "gestaucht", um den ganzen Filmbereich abzudecken. Daraus resultiert eine bessere Bildqualität. Bei der Filmprojektion muss der Projektor eine um 90° gedrehte Linse nutzen, um das Bild in sein ursprüngliches Seitenverhältnis zu entzerren.
