DescriptionBookstools or Moments in Time (2003) by Gillian Trotman (2).jpg
English: One of five oak sculptures comprising Bookstools or Moments in Time (2003) by Gillian Trotman in the grounds of Farnham Library, Vernon House, West Street, Farnham, Surrey. (Note there is some confusion as to whether the work is titled Bookstools or Moments in Time.) The pieces were commissioned for the 2003 Farnham Library Gardens Project. Each depicts an open book resting on top of two closed books. The pages of the open book originally depicted scenes from the history of Vernon House, but 20 years of exposure to the elements means that these details are no longer visible.
