Article

Darkness Tour

Portion used

The entire poster: because the image is poster art, a form of product packaging or service marketing, the entire image is needed to identify the product or service, properly convey the meaning and branding intended, and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the image.

Low resolution?

The copy is of sufficient resolution for commentary and identification but lower resolution than the original poster. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, unsuitable as counterfeit artwork, pirate versions or for uses that would compete with the commercial purpose of the original artwork.

Purpose of use

Section. The image is used for identification in the context of critical commentary of the work, product or service for which it serves as poster art. It makes a significant contribution to the user's understanding of the article, which could not practically be conveyed by words alone. The image is placed at the beginning of a section discussing the work, product or service to help the user quickly identify the work and know they have found what they are looking for.
Additional:The image is vital in showing nature of that Springsteen tour, especially its intensity and starkness and the way that select live radio broadcasts of shows were done. Per MusicHound Rock: The Essential Album Guide by Gary Graff, the 1978 radio broadcasts were an essential part of Springsteen's growing renown. Per The Music Lover's Guide to Record Collecting by Dave Thompson, these radio broadcasts were an unusual feature of the tour, especially for that era, and led to frequent bootlegging of these shows. When the Agora broadcast was finally officially released by the Springsteen organization in 2015, this Rolling Stone article said "This is simply the greatest live LP this greatest of live rockers has ever officially released." Per this Google Images search, many fan and/or bootlegger images of the radio broadcasts have been made. More sources to the importance of the radio broadcasts can be provided if necessary. Having an image for them makes a much stronger impression on the reader than just saying so in text..Use for this purpose does not compete with the purposes of the original artwork, namely the creator providing graphic design services, and in turn the marketing of the promoted item.

Replaceable?

As poster art, the image is not replaceable by free content; any other image that shows the same artwork or poster would also be copyrighted, and any version that is not true to the original would be inadequate for identification or commentary. Using different image would be misleading as to the identity of the work, product or service

Other information

Use of the poster art in the article complies with Wikipedia non-free content policy and fair use under United States copyright law as described above.
