Summary

Description

Church dates from the thirteenth century onwards and was restored in 1884 by James Fowler. It is built in greenstone with ashlar dressings and tiled roofs. There is a western tower, nave, north and south aisles, south porch, and chancel.

The two-stage tower is partly sixteenth century, the west door is from the nineteenth century. It has embattled parapets and pinnacles at each corner. The tower was restored in 1912. The south porch is from 1884, built by Fowler. However the inner doorway is from the thirteenth century.

The north arcade is of four bays dating from circa 1300. The south arcade is of three bays with octagonal pillars and dates from the thirteenth century. It also contains a thirteenth century piscina.

There is no chancel arch, the chancel is one with the nave. There is a carved reredos which was dedicated in 1902, the same year that the east window stained glass was installed.

The font is octagonal, dating from the fourteenth century. There is a 17th-century pulpit which was reconstructed in the nineteenth century.

There is a one manual organ by William Andrews of Bradford.

The church has several stained-glass windows.
