Der ersten sozialistischen Stadt beim Eisenhüttenkombinat Ost wurde am 7. Mai 1953 der Ehrenname "Stalinstadt" verliehen. An den Feierlichkeiten nahmen Vertreter der Regierung, des Diplomatischen Corps und Delegationen aus der Sowjetunion und den Volksdemokratien teil. UBz: Nach der Umbenennung. V.l.n.r.: Walter Ulbricht, der Leiter der Sowjetischen Delegation Jefanow, daneben der sowjetische Botschafter Iljitschow Abgebildete Personen:
