| Description |
English: Castles of Munster: Tynte's Castle, Youghal, Cork In the centre of town on Main Street, is a much altered 50 foot high, four storey tower house, the only surviving example of several that were once found in Youghal. It was built by the Walshes in the 15c who lost possession of it during the Desmond Rebellion, and it was then leased to Sir Robert Tynte from whom it acquired its present name. |
