| Description |
English: Coldstream Cottage Hospital Viewed from the Kelso Road, the hospital stands on the western outskirts of the town and was built in 1888, with various additions over the years. It was closed in October 2006 but work will commence in May 2008 on reconfiguration works to accommodate a 5 chair dental facility on the ground floor. The 'In-only' entrance will be upgraded to accommodate two-way traffic and the 'Exit-only' opening at the bend in road in the distance, will be blocked off in the interests of road safety. Although the hospital is just within the 30 mph limits, this is a fast section of road and the sightline at this exit to see traffic approaching from the Kelso direction, is very poor. |
