Summary

Description
English: Photograph taken in early September of 1937, of several workers constructing the post manager's house of the Fort Ross trading post on Somerset Island, in Nunavut, Canada. In the background, construction supplies can be seen sitting on the beach. Also in the background, anchored in an ice-free Depot Bay, is the Hudson's Bay Company's icebreaker SS Nascopie, which arrived on September 2, dropping off the supplies and the inhabitants of the post.
