English: The Îles Sanguinaires are consisting of four island which are off the Pointe de Parata near Ajaccio (Corsica). There are different opinons to the origin of the name (setting sun, vegetation,...). The single names of the islands are: Mezzu Mare (or Grande Sanguinaire), Île des Cormorans (or Isolotto), Cala d'Alga and Porri. Between Porri and île des Cormorans there is the rock U Sbiru. The islands are a Natura 2000 area. The Genoese tower was constructed in 1608.
Deutsch: Die Sanguinaires (Blutinseln) bestehen aus vier dem Pointe de Parata vorgelagerten Inseln. Zur Herkunft des Namens gibt es keine einheitlichen Meinung (Abendsonne, Bewuchs,...). Die Namen der Inseln sind: Mezzu Mare (oder Grande Sanguinaire), Île des Cormorans (oder Isolotto), Cala d'Alga und Porri. Dazu gehört noch der Felsen U Sbiru zwischen Porri und der île des Cormorans. Die Inseln sind ein Natura 2000 Schutzgebiet. Der Genueserturm auf dem Pointe de Parata wurde 1608 erbaut. |
