Description
English: Crucifixion. Musée de Pont-Aven, Gift of Abbot Tuarze to the parish of Pont-Aven. The painter "abandoned the style of the School of Pont-Aven to adopt dark shades and a tragic atmosphere in the style of classic Italian artists. Mary Magdalene clings to the foot of the cross of Christ who died while the storm rages in the sky and weary Mary collapses in pain, surrounded by the holy women.
