Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen ist dem seit 1574 bezeugten Gerichtssiegel von Mettenheim nachgebildet. Das Wappen entstammt dem Wappen der Herren von Leiningen, welche einen Adler im Wappen führten.
Das Wappen, das schon seit längerem von der Gemeinde geführt wird, wurde mit Urkunde des Ministeriums des Innern in Mainz vom 18. November 1958 genehmigt.
