Object history

Das Schwert in der Mitte des Wappens ist das Symbol des hl. Mauritius, des Orts- und Pfarrpatrons der Gemeinde; zu seiner Ehre fanden früher an seinem Festtag Pferdesegnungen statt und 1955 wurden ihm zu Ehren eine Glocke geweiht. Der Eichenast steht für das Wahrzeichen des Ortes, die Kaisereiche am Heiligenhäuschen. Sie wurde anlässlich des silbernen Hochzeitsjubiläums von Kaiser Wilhelm II. im Jahre 1906 gepflanzt.

Sichel und Ähre erinnern an die Entstehungszeit und den frühen alleinigen und heute teilweise erhaltenen landwirtschaftlichen Charakter der Gemeinde.
