Object history
Deutsch: Silz hieß ursprünglich Sulz und Sulzfeld; salzhaltige Quellen haben dem Ort diesen Namen gegeben. Hierfür steht das Salzkristall. Das Dorf gehörte zum Gericht des Gossersweiler Tales, aus dessen Siegel eines der beiden Kreuze genommen wurde, und mit diesem Tal zum kurpfälzischen Amt Landeck, was in den Wappenfarben Schwarz und Gold zum Ausdruck kommt. Der goldene Pfeil symbolisiert das Sebastianspatrozinium der Pfarrkirche in Silz.
