Summary[edit]

While the larger (outer) presser foot is down and stationary, the smaller foot and the needle are raised, and move forward for the next stitch. After the needle descends into the cloth, the larger foot rises. The smaller foot and needle then move the cloth toward the rear of the machine. The larger foot then comes down again.
