Summary

Description
English: Brige over the River Welland at Deeping St James - tinted postcard 1907 or earlier.

The photograph was taken on the south bank of the river below what is now the Riverside public footpath, and centres on the 1651 Deeping Gate Bridge, now Grade II* listed. The view looks east, with the now B1166 road (Bridge St.) from Stamford at the left, and Crowland towards the centre. The houses opposite exist, with the part of the building to the left of that with the awning being The Bell public house.
