English: Plate 11 from the fourth set of Thomas and William Daniell's 'Oriental Scenery,' which they called 'Twenty-four Landscapes.'
The Dhua Kund, or Pool of Smoke, in south Bihar is so called because of the misty vapour that comes up from the Kao river as it drops down in a cascade to join the river Son. This feature particularly attracted the Daniells who noticed that the visitors venerated the place as a sacred site.
