English: Bust of the monument in memory of John Ball Esq., twice elected to Irish House of Commons for the Drogheda constituency (sworn in 1796 as successor of John Forbes and reelected in 1799). Sculpted by John Smyth (1776–1840) in 1837. (See Rita Larkin, Smyth, John. Sculpture 1600–2000, Art and Architecture of Ireland, vol. III, pp. 324–325; Christine Casey and Alistair Rowan, North Leinster, pp. 237–238; Louth Members of the Irish Parliament.
