Summary

Description
English: The demonstrators in front of the Captaincy General.
On Wednesday of last week a public demonstration was held in Cartagena to ask the government to suspend the dismissal of the workers in the Arsenal. Although the demonstration was convened by the workers' societies, valuable elements of trade and politics were also part of it: it was presided over by Senator Mr. Maestre, lawyer Mr. García Vaso, President of the Chamber of Commerce and other outgoing persons. It is estimated that the act represented about 20,000 people. The mayor, Don Luis Aguirre, on receiving the protesters' commission, declared that he was completely identified with the aspirations of the workers and that he made them his own.

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.
