Description	The Principal Clerk of Session (George Macdonald) reads the roll of Peers of Scotland, at the beginning of the election of 16 representative Peers to serve in the 1959 Parliament. The election took place at 12 noon at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh, on 6 October 1959.
