English: Elliot Colliery, East pit winding engine house Taken before conservation. At this stage it was secure but unloved with no power and we viewed the inside by torch-light. This is all that remains of Elliot Colliery. The other winder was a monstrous inverted vertical duplex steam winder and there are no surviving examples of that type. |
