Description
English: Etching from probably Pieter Holsteyn in 1660 depicting "Witte Wieven" living in tumili. Title according to the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam "Priestess speaks from a hill" It was published in 1660 in a Dutch book called "Korte Beschryvinge van eenige Vergetene en Verborgene Antiquiteten", in which author Johan Picardt made these statements. The bookseller/publisher was Gerrit van Goedesbergh.
Nederlands: Ets van waarschijnlijk Pieter Holsteyn uit 1660 met een afbeelding van "Witte wieven" die grafheuvels bewonen. De titel volgens het Rijksmuseum "Priesteres spreekt vanuit een heuvel". De ets verscheen in 1660 in een boek van Johan Picardt getiteld "Korte Beschryvinge van eenige Vergetene en Verborgene Antiquiteten" waarin Picardt onder meer dit aan zijn lezers meedeelde. De boekverkoper/uitgever was Gerrit van Goedesbergh.
