Outside the Ebbisham Centre. Bronze sculpture by Judy Boyt, 2001. It is a portrait of two racehorses, Diomed, the winner of the first Derby in 1780, and on the 2001 winner, Galileo. From Judy Boyt's website: Evocation of Speed Bronze sculpture on polished steel plinth. The very first winner of the Derby - Diomed - versus the 2000 winner - Galileo. Both are fragments from our memories of the past, racing through the winner's circle to the future. |
