Description
English: Gavel used George Washington in laying corner-stone of U.S. Capitol again serves in dedication of dtone at Washington Cathedral. Using the famous Washington gavel, which served at the laying of the cornerstone of the United States Capitol, the Right Rev. James E. Freeman, Bishop of Washington, dedicates a memorial stone contributed to Washington Cathedral by the Potomac Kasonic Lodge of Georgetown, the oldest Masonic Lodge in the country. Members of the fraterna' order attended in regalia as the ceremonies were a feature of the lodge's commemoration of the 140th anniversary of its founding
