English: Heckmondwike Central 2nd railway station (site), Yorkshire Opened in 1885 on the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway's line from Mirfield to Low Moor, this station replaced an earlier one located just beyond the under-bridge in the distance. It closed in 1969. View south east towards Northorpe (North Road) and Mirfield; also Ravensthorpe (L&YR). The view is from one side of the island platform; the other side being further to the left and hidden by the long grass. |
