Description
English: Portrait of Henry II Langford Brown (1802-1857), by Richard Augustus Clack (1804–1881), oil on canvas, 74.2 x 61.6 cm, collection of Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter. He originated at the estate of Combe satchfield, Silverton, Devon, sold by his family in 1831. In the 1830's he built Barton Hall on his family's manor of Kingskerswell, Devon. He was a keen yachtsman at nearby Torquay. Provenance: the portrait, together with one of Henry I Langford Brown (1721-1800) were donated to RAMM in 1957 by Thomas Hercules Langford Brown.
