Text Appearing Before Image: l Board. Thefollowing two years were spent teach-ing in the L. D. S. Seminary at Rich-mond, Utah, and serving on the Ben-son Stake Sunday School Board. Hewas appointed a member of the EastJordan Stake High Council, July 15,1934, and of the Deseret Sunday SchoolUnion board in November, 1934. Hetook a masters degree in the Univer-sity of Utah in 1931, and in 1934 he received a doctors degree in the fieldof education from the University ofCalifornia, and was appointed super-visor of the L. D. S. senior seminariesin November, 1935. He is also a mem-ber of the Phi Delta Kappa (a nationaleducational fraternity) and of the Sig-ma Chi (a national social fraternity).On Sept. 18, 1928, Dr. Bennion mar-ried Katherine Snow, daughter ofWarren C. Snow and Kate Crawford;this union has been blessed with twodaughters, namely, Katherine Annette,born Sept. 18, 1928, and Coralyn E.,born Feb. 9, 1932. Text Appearing After Image: Taylorsville, Utah, June 7, 1870, a sonof John Bennion and Mary Turpin.He was baptized Aug. 1, 1878, byArchibald Frame, was ordained to theoffice of a Deacon at the age of 12years, a Teacher at 15, and a Priest at18 years of age. He was ordained anElder Nov. 8, 1889, by William Ben-nion, and a Seventy Nov. 11, 1889, byApostle John Henry Smith, and setapart for a mission to New Zealand.While on this mission Elder Bennionlabored most of the time in the Whan-garei District, over which he presided 206 LATTER-DAY SAINT in an efficient manner until the closeof the year 1892, when he returnedhome. The journey from Salt Laketo New Zealand had been across thePacific Ocean. The return journeywas made via Australia, Ceylon,Egypt, Palestine and various parts ofEurope; thus he circumnavigated theglobe.
