Description
English: John Alcock (1715–1806) or John Alcock (1740-1791), from a portrait by Robert Cooper (d. 1828), engraved by W. Newman in 1797. Note: Alcock Sr. (b. 1715) is stated to be depicted by the National Portrait Gallery website while Alcock Jr. (b. 1740) is proposed instead by the National Galleries website. The younger Alcock is the elder Alcock's son, and both were doctors of music, as the full engraving states.
