Description
English: John Wallace Scott, depicted in this 1886 illustration, won the U.S. Medal of Honor for his display of gallantry during the American Civil War when capturing the Confederate flag in the Battle of Five Forks, Virginia on April 1, 1865. He served as a captain with Company D, 157th Pennsylvania Infantry (Union Army).
