Ο Ευαγγελιστής Ιωάννης και ο Πρόχορος 1602, 65x113εκ. Εμμανουήλ Λαμπάρδος "Αρχή του κειμένου της Αποκάλυψης, αρχή του ευαγγελίου του Ιωάννη, ΟΑΓ(ιος) ΠΡΟΧΟΡΟC, ΧΕΙΡ ΕΜΜΑΝΟΥΗΛ ΤΟΥ ΛΑΜΠΑΡΔΟΥ ΑΧΒ΄" Στην εικόνα παριστάνεται το σπήλαιο της Πάτμου, μέσα στο οποίο βρίσκεται ο ευαγγελιστής Ιωάννης που υπαγορεύει στο μαθητή του Πρόχορο. Ο Ιωάννης στρέφει το κεφάλι του προς τον ουρανό, από τον οποίο προβάλλει το χέρι του Θεού που ευλογεί και ακτίνες, από τις οποίες η μία κατευθύνεται προς τον ευαγγελιστή. Ο Πρόχορος καθισμένος απέναντί του γράφει σε ανοιχτό ειλητό την αρχή του ευαγγελίου του Ιωάννη: ΕΝ ΑΡΧΗ ΗΝ Ο ΛΟΓΟC ΚΑΙ Ο ΛΟΓ[OC] (Ιωάν. 1.1). Ανάμεσα στις δύο μορφές υπάρχει χαμηλό γραφείο και αναλόγιο, επάνω στο οποίο βρίσκεται ειλητό, όπου αναγράφεται η αρχή της Αποκάλυψης. Επάνω στο γραφείο βρίσκονται τα όργανα για τη γραφή, και στο βάθος του σπηλαίου, κρέμεται από καρφί καλαθάκι με τυλιγμένα χειρόγραφα. |
