Summary

Description
English: Photograph of the seaside residence of Jotham Bixby in Long Beach, ca.1910. The mansion is high on a hill overlooking the calm water in the foreground; it is a three story building with several chimneys and a long covered walkway headed towards the ocean. There is another house to the left, smaller but still a large two story building. On the hill in front of the houses there is an elaborate concrete stairway leading to the water and surrounded by grass. On either side of the grass, the hill is bare.
