Summary

Description
English: The tree of life at the Dohány Street Synagogue in Budapest dedicated to the victims of the Shoah. Imre Varga's metal work, unveiled in 1991, is a weeping willow in memory of the 600,000 Hungarian Jews killed by the Nazis during the Second World War. It was partly financed by the American actor of Hungarian origin Tony Curtis. It is composed of hundreds of metal sheets engraved with the names of some of the Jews deported to concentration camps during the Second World War.
