Summary

Description This is an 0-4-2T, coal-burning steam locomotive that was built in 1890 by Baldwin Locomotive Works. Throughout its history, the engine was solely used as Manitou & Pike's Peak Railway # 1 in Colorado, USA. The locomotive was designed to handle the steep track grades between the town of Manitou Springs and the summit of Pike's Peak. The unit was retired in 1941 and is now on display at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, Colorado.
