This is the standard album artwork for Butterfly and is the original artwork that was first used the first pressings of the album, especially the American editions, these can be seen for example at Discogs.[1][2][3] The other artwork, the same photo of Carey except her name and text "MARIAH CAREY" appears next to her is favored by many, however it is actually a reissued cover art that was originally used for a 2005 Australian CD . However, sometime in recent years the album was digitally remastered by Sony and this artwork has since been adopted to be used on digital retailers.[4] |
