Summary

This concrete pillbox, built in the 1920s, was one of the base end stations that observed for the submarine mine defenses of the southern channels to Boston Harbor. It is located at Ft. Revere in Hull, MA, on land now part of a state park. The structure is about 10 feet square, and has a ceiling height of about 7 feet, with its floor about a foot below ground level. It looks out northerly across the channel between Pt. Allerton and the Brewster islands. Photo was taken in 2010. This station is harder to find by the casual tourist.
