Summary

Description
English: After the sinking of the German passenger liner Monte Cervantes in Beagle Channel near Ushuaia in 1930 the company Salvamar, founded by the Argentina living Italian businessman Leopoldo Simoncini, sealed the right of salvage of the wreck in 1951. The work lasted several months and all applicable metal parts were disassembled, melted down and sold piece by piece. 80 workers were engaged and they lived both on an anchored tugboat and in a hut, which was constructed on the hull.
