Summary[edit]

Description

Logo from the 20th annual meeting of NACCL.

Source

Cropped from cover of conference program book and proceedings (published 25-27 April 2008, scanned and uploaded to Wikipedia 4 December 2008). Image is also visible at the NACCL-20 website

Article

North American Conference on Chinese Linguistics

Portion used

Logo from top 1/4 of program book cover

Low resolution?

No. Is 1/2 of original resolution of scan (and approximately the same size as it appears on paper); making it any smaller would render the text illegible.

Purpose of use

Illustrates the subject of the article, the artistic style used by the comic's author, and the setting described in the article. As this image is a single comic strip panel, it would not be useful for criminal reproduction of the entire strip, and therefore the use of this image does not pose a threat to the salability of the original.

Replaceable?

No substitute is available.

Other information

Not sure what the copyright status of the image is, so going with fair use just in case (would rather err on the side of caution).
