Summary

Description
English: East view of Newington House, Edinburgh with a family group in the foreground. The family group is probably Duncan McLaren and his third wife Priscilla Bright, daughter of Jacob Bright and sister of the Right Honourable John Bright, and the children of his three marriages. McLaren, who served Edinburgh as an MP and Lord Provost, bought Newington House in 1852 and died there in 1886.
